Other Autry Families

There are four more African American Autry families (Costan, Daniel, Frank and William Autry) that I have been looking at and have studied quite well. Information is now showing that the heads of these families were possible blood relatives of Ned Edward Autry or just slave members owned by the same slave owner (George W. Autry). George W. Autry was first found living in the Little Coharie township of Sampson County somewhere between Autryville and Roseboro.

George W Autry was the only slave owner with the surname of Autry that lived in the Southern District of Sampson County in 1850 and 1860. Some of the southern district of Sampson County later came to be called the Little Coharie Township. George was found living somewhere between Roseboro and Autryville at the time. Sometime between 1860-70 George W moved to the McDaniels township to live. He apparently brought Ned Edward with him because they were found to be next door neighbors during this time.
